170: The Curious Story of Sharon Kinne

This case covers a woman who appears to have been a serial killer although she was only ever found guilty of one murder. She was acquitted in a second murder and set to face a FOURTH trial in a third murder when she went to Mexico to commit the one murder that she was convicted of.She was imprisoned in Mexico but then escaped prison and fled, never to be found again.It was recently reported that she had moved to Canada and passed away at the age 83 in 2022.This is one you need to hear to believe!

169. The University of Idaho Murders

On November 13th, 2022 four students from The University of Idaho would go out for the night and into the wee hours of the morning.  One couple and two friends at different locations.  They would then all return home to the rooming house that two of the students lived in off campus.  That night an assailent would enter the home and stab all four of the setudents to death using a fixed-blade knife.  The assailant however did leave two students alive inside of the same home and one of the students claimed to have seen the assailant leaving the house.
One man, Brian Kohberger, who was a Ph.D Criminology student would ultimately be arrested in connection with the murders and his case is still waiting to go to trial.This episode is complete with what we know about this case up to the release date.

168. The Murder of Stefanie Rengel

New Year's Day 2008 started with bright prospects for the year ahead for two young women who lived just six kilometres away from one another in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as they both started the day and the year with their families in their family home's.
Unfortunately though, one of those girls, Melissa Todorvic, had some serious issues with the other, Stefanie Rengel, based out of nothing more than jealousy and self doubt.  As a matter of fact the two girls did not even know one another.
Melissa though was dating Stefanie's ex-boyfriend and felt that when Stefanie tried to get a message to her that her boyfriend, David Bagshaw, was cheating on her that she she was lying and spreading rumours.  In retaliation Melissa would weaponize her boyfriend and manipulate him into commiting the vile act of murder against Stefanie.

167. Albert Guay and Flight 108

Albert Guay had an extramarital affair with a seventeen year old girl which was rooted in lies, conceit and control.He lived his entire life as an entitled child, believing that he should always get whatever he wanted and everyone should bow down to his every whim.To try and force the girlfriend to stay with him he hatched a plan to kill his wife and killed many other innocent people alongside her.In the end he wound up losing his wife, his girlfriend, his trial and his life as he and his accomplices were hanged for their actions.

166. The Curious Case of Julian Buchwald

On March 4th, 2008 a young man in Australia named Julian Buchwald would ask permission of his girlfriend's family to take their 17-year-old daughter, and his long term girlfriend, for a hike and picnic on the immense property that was owned by his parents.  The two set out for a picnic and to check out a waterfall but that is not what happened.  The two were kidnappped from that area and drive for six hours to another remote area where they were left stripped naked, tied up and seemingly to die.  After a week of struggling through the wilderness they found a road and were picked up and miraculously returned to safety...only the story was certainly not anywhere close to what it seemed.

165. The Murders of Satori Williams and Timmee Jackson

After having guns and a television stolen from his home following a break-and-enter a man named Kevin Watkins felt that the police were not dealing with the crimes and so he took matters into his own hands including making threats to neighbourhood teens and even impersonating an officer.He told the teens that if his property was not returned, Christmas 2015 would be a bloodbath and when his property was not returned he followed through, taking the lives of two teens, Satori Williams and Timmee Jackson.

164. The Death of Erin McCleskey

On June 15th, 2016 Erin McCleskey, who was a process server, would attempt to serve a man with legal papers just outside of Austin, Texas when she was attacked by dogs and she lost her life.  It was immediately ruled that the six adult dogs that were found on the property should be euthanized and charges were not laid against the man that owned the property.  For over a year the euthanization though would be held up in courts as the owner and their caretakers believed that they deserved a day in court and that it needed to be proven that the pack of dogs, and not just one dog, was involved in the lethal attack.

163. Serial Killer Richard Chase

Between December 1977 and January 1978 serial killer Richard Chase would go on a rampage that not only was about murder but about mutilation, necrophilia and cannibalism as well.  Richard lived a life that wasn't just filled with red flags, his entire life was a gigantic red flag that was ignored by doctors, by his family, by neighbours and literally seemingly by every single person that ever knew him.  His progression of crimes is perhaps unmatched in scope and in hindsight is certainly easy to see that many people failed Richard and failed to ensure that lives of animals and people alike would remain safe.  Listener discretion is greatly advised for this case.

162. The Murder of Sydney Loofe

On November 15, 2017 Sydney Loofe left work to go on a second date with a woman that she had met on Tinder.  When she didn't show up for work the following day her family called police as it was out of the norm for her to not go home and to miss work unannounced.The heart-breaking truth was that Sydney was a girl who suffered from mental health struggles and was just looking to turn her life around by meeting someone new and her "date" wound up in her being murdered and disregarded by two absolute monsters.

161. The Death of John O'Keefe

Just after midnight on January 29th John O'Keefe was dropped off after a night out at two bars at a fellow Boston Police Officer's home by his girlfriend Karen Read.  What happened on that rop off and the following hours is of much debate.  Investigators and the prosecution allege that Karen hit John with her SUV when she dropped him off and left him for dead while others believe that John's death was the result of something else and that the investigation was an elaborate cover-up to pin everything on Karen while taking the blame away from other officers.  At the first trial the jury was unable to come to a verdict and so a second court case is scheduled to start in Janaury of 2025.
