In a world that is filled with crime and murder and people doing unexplainable and awful things to one another one of the worst things that I can find to read and write about is the killing of children by other children. As we are going to see in this case today our children are growing up in a world that is sick and our children are growing up in a world that seemingly breeds hatred around each and every corner. This week we are going to talk about a very young trans-gendered girl who was lured out of her home by someone that she considered one of her very few friends and another teen with their soul goal being to murder her. This story has so many sides to it that are sad and distressing. We have teens, children really, who are riddled with anxiety, dealing with autism spectrum disorder and being influenced by one another, the world around them and so much hate. This is a case that covers the horrifying and far-to-soon end to one life at the hands of two people who were, and are, clearly dealing with a plethora of their own issues, not the least of which were sadism and hatred.Â

There have certainly been cases where entire family’s have disappeared under strange circumstances over the years. In many case it is believed that the family’s simply needed to, or wanted to, start a new life and went off the grid to do so. This week though we are going to look into a case that is certainly much more sinister than that and even though the remains of a husband, wife and young daughter were recovered, proving that they did not disappear purposely, there still are no concrete answers, no suspects and there has been no resolution whatsoever to what happened to them. Over the years many theories abound as to what may have happened in this case and investigators themselves have even said that most people investigating murder would wish for the evidence that they have in this case, and yet, the evidence seems to point in many directions without any clear path to take to solve the crimes.Â

Out of the 51 States that make up the United States of America, Oklahoma is ranked 14th highest when it comes to their Crime Index rating. Oklahoma had a violent crime rating of 4.20 which is just above the national median of 4. The odds of becoming a victim of a violent crime are approximately 1 in 238 in the state.  Last year there were 270 reports of murder, 2313 reports of rape, 1632 reports of robbery and 12656 reports of assault. The ratios per capita in the state rank above the national average for murder, rape and robbery and below the national average for assault. This week we are going to focus in on the state of Oklahoma and talk about one of the most troubling things to talk about within true crime, the disappearances and murders of young children. We will focus in this week on a case where the young lady at the centre of the case is believed to have been murdered and the believed culprit was murdered in prison. In this case however, no body has ever been recovered and as always there is a massive plea for information to finally close this case in one form or fashion.Â

Much of humanity is driven by some combination of the desire to make a lot of money and the desire to be recognized, known and remembered in some way, shape or form, long after their time here on this earth has come to an end. It is believed that part of the reason for those desires is that people inherently quest for immortality. The unfortunate thing however is that, as we touched on in last week’s episode on Stanislav Reshetnikov, some people seem to either lose the narrative of being remembered for positives, or they simply pass a point that they believe is of no return and they decide that being remembered for ANYTHING is better than not being remembered at all. This week we are going to look at a story of a young man who was known to be quiet, reserved and mostly a shadow to those that he lived near and went to school with. His story is one of drug abuse, alcohol abuse and complete boredom that led to what appeared to be a well thought out plan to commit an unthinkable deed, throw an incredible party and be remembered around the world. He did perhaps wind up with all of those things, but he also will likely spend the rest of his life in prison and that too will always be a part of his legacy.Â

123. The Murder of Valentina Grigoryeva
Monday Mar 18, 2024
Monday Mar 18, 2024
On December 1st, 2020 the culmination of months of what was known as "trash streaming" would come to a head for a streamer who went by the name "ReeFlay", Stanislav Reshetnikov.  For many months Stanislav had been abusing his girlfriend, his supposed friends and any people that he could convince to be put on display and himiliated online while he made money streaming and taking donations and requests for the awful things that he did.Streamers have long proven that people will pay for anything and also proven that people will do anything for money, which is a sad state of affairs and something that ultimately led to the untimely death of Stanislav's so-called beloved girlfreind, Valentina Grigoryeva.Valentina would be disregarded as trash by the man that supposedly loved her and she would have her lifeless body further degraded by being left on stream after she had passed away while Stanislav continued to take donations for his despeciable actions.

Almost every single parent that lives in this world will tell you that their child, or children, are the most important things in their life. They will do everything for their kids and they will do anything to ensure their safety. If you are one of the people in this world though that has been unfortunate enough to lose a child, those feelings amplify to levels that you likely could never even imagine. The old adage is that a parent should never have to bury their child or children. This week we are going to look at a case where a family lost their child at a young age and then they have been forced to spend every minute of every day wondering what really happened and exhausting every option available to attempt to find answers, answers that they believe that they know and other believe are true, but they are running up against something that seems nearly impenetrable, the institutions that have more power than we could ever imagine and the institutions that have supposedly been placed in our society to protect us. When families who have lost a child run up against the law enforcement agencies that are supposed to help them it truly can be a battle that is never won by either side.Â

121. The Murder of Heather Elvis
Monday Mar 04, 2024
Monday Mar 04, 2024
A lot of the criminal violence that we see around us is actually because of conflict and is even moralistic in nature. Often times the criminal that we learn about is someone who has been wronged or they have at least perceived that they were wrong, and therefore they are doling out their own brand of justice in some regard. This is largely why things like the legal system and juries of our peers for example have been created over time, so that we can judge the guilty as guilty and we can judge the not-guilty as such as well. Technically continuing on that chain of moralistic justice. This week we are going to look at a case where you could see some signs of that, even if the guilty parties never admitted to the crimes and even said that they were not bothered by the social injustice that came before the crimes that now see them in prison. One of the most common causes of domestic abuse and assault is infidelity and cheating. That is where this week’s case begins but it certainly ends in a sad and terrible way that very well was justice, on some level, that did not fit the crime.Â

Monday Feb 26, 2024
Throughout history we can find a lot of cases of things like Munchausen Syndrome where a person suffers from a psychological condition where they pretend to be sick so that people can care for them because they seek the attention that would come, or comes with that. This week though we are going to look at a case where a woman went way above and beyond physical illness to get attention, and ultimately money for a case that garnered local, national and international attention. In the end, I don’t know that we fully understand why, or ever will understand why, she went to the lengths that she did to lie to seemingly everyone in her life. Thankfully though, as we can only hope will happen when someone spins a web of lies, her house of cards came tumbling down and the truth came out.Â

119. The Murder of Adam Simjee
Monday Feb 19, 2024
Monday Feb 19, 2024
Welcome to Episode 119 of our series, "Gone But Never Forgotten", where we unpack the heartbreaking yet inspiring tale of Adam Simji, a 22-year-old finance student whose life was tragically cut short when he tried to help two seemingly stranded women. Known for his selfless heroism, Adam's story is a chilling reminder of the dystopic state of our society, yet also highlights the resilient human spirit.
The scene unfolds in Talladega National Forest in 2022, where Adam and his girlfriend, Mikayla Paulus, are on an adventure. The couple sees a woman in distress and attempts to assist, unknowingly walking into a terrifying ambush laid by Yasmin Marie Adele Hider and Crystal Diane Pinkins. In a shocking turn of events, Adam is fatally shot in the attempt and one of the women flees the scene, with the duo later being apprehended and their insidious intent brought to light.
Both women targeted good Samaritans alongside the highway, using distress as a bait to rob them, a plan that led to the tragic end of Adam's life. In an eerie twist, the narrative reveals their association to the controversial University of Cosmic Intelligence, a potentially cult-like group led by Rashad Jamal White, adding a chilling dimension to their crime.
Despite the horror and loss, this episode paints a picture of resilience, notably embodied by Mikayla's bravery in the face of adversity and her determination to bring the culprits to justice. Join us as we dissect this tragic tale, offering insights into crime, sacrifice, and the navigation of a seemingly dangerous world that still harbours Good Samaritans like Adam Simji.

118. The Murders of Scott Sessions and Heather Frank
Monday Feb 12, 2024

Domestic Violence is unfortunately one of the fastest rising crimes in the entire world and that was really just exasperated during the pandemic, especially in countries where families were essentially told to stay in their homes, only leaving home for essential things in order to stop the spread of the virus. That meant that countless people who had suffered domestic abuse in the past were essentially forced into a situation where it was nigh impossible to get away from their attackers. Even sadder still is the fact that domestic violence is quite often not dealt with swiftly nor appropriately with guilty parties often facing minimal time behind bars, if any at all. This week we are going to look at a case that appears to very clearly have been a case where not enough was done to stop an extremely violent man and in the end that fact led to said man murdering two people in cold blood out of jealousy, rage and a seemingly unstoppable urge to hurt other people. Stories like this one are unfortunately very common all around the world and seem to be picking up in number and ferocity all the time.Â
